Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783-1853) was Danish Artist. He was born in Blåkrog in the Duchy of Schleswig, Denmark. He was called the father of Golden age of Danish art. He began with historical paintings, portraits and landscapes. On the way, he made drawings for copper plate etchings. He improved his skills in painting, the human form, and followed his teacher's admonition, ‘to paint after Nature and the Antique in order to find Truth’. He travelled to Germany to Paris, and than onto Rome. He liked the local bright Italian light, and, here produced a large number of Art works, These included some exceptional landscape studies.
