Maximilien Luce (1858-1941) was a French Neo-impressionist artist. He started as an Impressionist, but encounter with Georges Seurat, Paul Signac and Camille Pissarro lead him to Pointillism*. But returned to Impressionism. Besides his paintings, illustrations, engravings, and graphics art, he was involved in anarchist activism.

His portfolio include sea coast landscapes Normandy and Brittany, street views of Paris, industrial scenes and workers in action. He also painted portraits, floral still life, domestic or interior scenes, etc. Many of his paintings reflect his political beliefs.

* Pointillism (or Divisionism) is a style of painting points or dots, which a viewer perceives as an optical blending effect of colours.
