CANALETTO (GIOVANNI ANTONIO CANAL) 1697-1768, was a Venetian artist famous for his landscapes or vedute of Venice, London etc. His majority of paintings were from on site-sketches and studies in urban localities or nature. He was fairly meticulous for accurate detailing, perspective construction and depiction of depth scale. There are numerous Sketches, Studies and etching print. Many of these reflect his preparatory work. This set shows collection of Sketches, and the set to follow in the next week will show Vedute paintings in oil.
