SUNDAY Feature on ART of Architecture
.
Edouard Warschawsky Léon Louis (Edy) Legrand, (1892–1970) was a French illustrator and painter. He began carer as an illustrator in advertising and literature fields, first in Paris, and after WW-II in New York. Later, he was more devoted to painting. He moved to Rabat and Morocco, and stayed there for 20 years. Here, Edy Legrand was fascinated by the colourful environment and people. His scenes are always full of people, and it is through them, the paintings begin to depict the landscape. He represents, both the worlds, the early or pre-war art styles and the post war modernism. The choice of colour also reflects the transition.
